Our Vision:

The vision of ETM is to see churches throughout the world filled with Christ-followers who are prepared to contend for their faith and who live their lives in such a way that the truth of the Christian faith is clearly demonstrated in every aspect of their lives and draws people to Christ.

Our Mission:Earth

Our mission is to help churches, para-churches, and other ministries throughout the world in the:

  • Equipping of Christian leaders
  • Building of apologetic disciples
  • Developing spiritual growth within the Body of Christ
  • Growing Christ’s kingdom through evangelism

This mission is being accomplished by providing consulting services, sermons/messages, and workshops in apologetics, disciple building, evangelism, organizational structures, and leadership.

Our Background:

ETM was “officially” formed in the spring of 2008 but was formulated in the mind of Richard Tompkins two years earlier as he worked on his doctoral dissertation. He became convinced that today’s culture is so far removed from the church and has become so infiltrated with false beliefs (such as the various permeations of New Age Spirituality), that

to be effective kingdom building disciples, each believer needs to fully understand how to not only articulate the “what” of the Christian faith but the “why” of our faith as well
To be successful we must also understand the counterfeit beliefs that compete for the hearts and minds of people.

We must all learn how to live an apologetic life – a life that contends for the faith. Dr. Tompkins believes that there are too few Christian organizations that know how to do this and far too few leaders who have been provided with the tools needed to teach them.

Explore Truth Ministries is committed to working with local churches to shore them up.

Researchers tell us that America today is more spiritual than it has been in the past 50 years. Yet the average spiritual person is farther away from the genuine truth than they have been since the country was founded. For example, in 1962, 84% of Americans believed that an absolute truth existed. Today, only about 26% believe that there is such a thing as absolute truth. Also, a growing number of Christians do not believe that Jesus is the only way to God. A recent survey by Pew Research indicated that 83% of Protestants, 79% of Catholics, and 57% of Evangelical Christians believe that faiths other than their own can provide salvation. These statistics help us to see why there is a need for apologetics.
